Lumen Wheatbelt Study Hubs is partnering with the AHEAD program to deliver engaging workshops to inspire more Wheatbelt students to pursue higher education. Lumen aims to increase educational opportunities within the Wheatbelt and to support our students in their local communities while they pursue post-secondary education.

AHEAD is a co-curricular program, focused on developing the interests and talents of the individual with a career development lens. The program has been developed, and is delivered, by qualified high school and primary teachers.

AHEAD aims to increase student aspiration for higher education by offering a range of aspirational workshops for Year 7-12 students. These focus on building students’ confidence in their abilities, assisting them to explore their options within higher education, developing their skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future, and delivering information on the variety of pathways into all five of the Western Australian universities – Curtin, UWA, Murdoch, ECU and Notre Dame.

 AHEAD stands for: Addressing Higher Educational Access Disadvantage. The project is federally funded through a Higher Education Participation Program (HEPP) and engagement with the program is free of charge. Teacher supervision is required during the workshops.
