Meet Chris!

Chris graduated with a Diploma of Counselling ahead of time in early 2024.

In 2023, whilst in a role as a lecturer at Leederville TAFE, Chris enrolled in a Diploma of Counselling through Central Regional TAFE Kalgoorlie. Living in York, he was not able to attend classes in person and decided to study online.

Chris said: “Although I am fortunate to have access to reliable computer technology and internet in my home, signing up for Lumen Study Hub at the York CRC provided me with the confidence of knowing I had a close, reliable back-up option should anything compromise my ability to study at home.”

“In addition to this, the option of using free printing facilities, seeking staff assistance, or even having a quiet place to study as a change of scenery to stimulate learning was invaluable. I made use of the study area at Lumen on occasion as part of my learning experience.”
