Ellenbrook Study Hub: Open for Business!
In an exciting step forward for education and community development, the City of Swan and Regional Development Australia (RDA) Wheatbelt have joined forces to establish the Ellenbrook Study Hub. The Hub is a venture supported by the Australian Government through the Suburban University Study Hubs Program.
A formal signing ceremony, held on 16th April 2025 marked this significant partnership, which aims to provide enhanced learning opportunities for the local community.
The Ellenbrook Study Hub is designed to support lifelong learning, deliver educational resources, and create a welcoming space for students of all ages. This initiative aligns with the shared commitment of the City of Swan and RDA Wheatbelt to empower individuals through accessible education and foster community growth.
Tanya Richardson, City of Swan Mayor, said the hub is a fantastic space for local students to access high-quality study services much closer to home.
“For City of Swan residents who have to travel quite a distance to access tertiary study services, having the newly opened Ellenbrook Study Hub so close to home will make it easier for them to get the services they need without the long commute,” she said.
Elise Woods, Lumen Wheatbelt Regional University Centre Director, said Lumen is thrilled to be delivering another high-quality study hub to the outer-metropolitan area.
“We are proud to open the doors at the Ellenbrook Study Hub, a vibrant new space that will help students from Ellenbrook and surrounding communities access higher education opportunities closer to home,” she said.
“This partnership between RDA Wheatbelt and the City of Swan represents a strong commitment to supporting students in the community.”
The Ellenbrook Study Hub is now operational, offering services and programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of the community. The Hub will be staffed during business hours and provide access to students from 6am-10pm, 7 days a week.
A formal opening ceremony will be held in July to showcase and celebrate the completed Hub.
